The art of walking and the school of the senses

The aim is to bring people closer to nature and its secrets, appreciating it with and for all the senses, split into 4 categories:
The school of “walking”: The difficulties for walkers begin when walking on impassable ground. The guide will provide tourists with all the advice and methods for walking correctly.
The school of “sight”: During the excursion the guide will provide information about the flora, fauna and geology, not only from a scientific point of view, but also through stories, legends and traditions.
The school of “smell, touch and taste”: The guide will help walkers to appreciate the mountains with all their senses, smelling plants, touching rocks and tasting spring water.
Guide and be guided: Walking with others also means creating group dynamics. The guide will hence help to bring out the best of these dynamics to promote the well-being of each guest.

“Latzfonser Kreuz” (Lazfons Cross) (2300 m):

North-west above Lazfons along the mountain ridge of the massif of the S. Cassiano peak there is a pilgrims’ church with a refuge nearby which is open in the summer (Latzfonser-Kreuz-Hospiz). Splendid view.

Bagni Tre Chiese (Bad Dreikirchen) and the Gorge of Rio degli Orti (Zargenbach)

Arrival: From Chiusa, on the mountain road that leads to Villandro, up to the hairpin bend on the right above the village. From here, turn left towards Stofels. Private car park at the Winterle Inn.

Excursions for all the family Racines and the «Gilfenklamm» canyon

It is best to take the footpath alongside the Hotel “Zur Gilfenkamm” and proceed along the Racines stream.

Malga Gampen (2063 m):

Extended pasture area in the deep Val di Funes, East of Malga Zanwer beyond the border with the woods along the path that leads to the Genova refuge (Schlüterhütte), where you can stop for a snack.

Sass de Putia (Peitlerkofel- 2874 m):

From the Genova refuge (Schlüterhütte) go up towards the East to Passo Croce (Kreuzkofel - 2340 m), on path 4 turn left after the steep grassy slopes, then to the North-east, where the land is almost flat up to the Peitlerscharte fork (2357 m); the path is marked, you can’t make mistakes, it winds off in many directions along the slopes that lead southwards, and finally, above the rocks (safe) up to the peak.

The famous Adolf Munkel path:

Advice and useful information: Famous high path with interesting glimpses of the geological structure of the Dolomites. The path was created in 1905 from the German section of the Alpenverein of Dresden and takes its name from its founder. The excursion does not present particular difficulties. However, solid walking boots are essential.

Velturno – Verdignes - Lazfons

From the village of Velturno follow the indication E blue and white towards Verdignes, with a marvellous view of the Val d’Isarco and the Sass de Putia – Gernstein Castle – uphill to the Cappella di Sant’Anna (1.134 m – the chapel of the miners from the Fundres mine) – Descent (on path no. 3) going via Gravetsch Castle towards Villandro and, following path no. 3, towards Chiusa.
Return to Velturno on the public bus.
